Albion College Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach Scott Frew will direct this adidas Tennis Camp. Coach Frew is in his 6th year as the head coach at Albion.  His Albion women’s team has won three conference titles since he started and has also qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships on three different occasions. He was selected as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s Central Region Coach of the Year in 2005 for his work as the Women’s coach.

Frew began his coaching career at Ferris State University where he served as the Men’s and Women’s Head tennis coach and co-director of the schools tennis camps from 1986-1991. The Ferris State summer camps accommodated approximately 650 campers per summer. In 1991, he was named the Intercollegiate Tennis Coaches Association Midwest Men’s Coach of the Year. His teams at Ferris State consistently placed in the top 15 in the country in NCAA Division II.

Coach Frew is a certified USPTA professional and currently is the president of the Western Michigan Tennis Association. Frew also serves as the director of tennis at the Kalamazoo Country Club during the summer.

Evening Activities at camp will include:

• Movie night
• canoeing/water games
• Miscellaneous sports games - racquetball/basketball
• Swimming Party
• Frisbee Golf

Campers will train on Albion’s six outdoor varsity tennis courts with four indoor back-up courts at the Ungrodt Tennis Center. Campers will also have the opportunity for videotape analysis.
