Camp Director
Jovan Parlic was named head coach UIC men’s tennis program in June 2022.
In Parlic’s first year leading the Flames, he posted a 9-14 record. Parlic took over the program in its inaugural year in the competitive Southland Conference, where UIC finished with a 3-2 record. During the 2022-23 season, Parlic coached Aleksa Bucan to the Southland Conference Newcomer of the Year award and All-Conference First Team.
Parlic arrived in Chicago after serving the prior two seasons as assistant coach at the University of Arkansas. In addition to working with both the men’s and women’s teams at his alma mater, he was an assistant coach at Colorado, and an instructor at IMG Bollettieri Tennis Academy. A native of Niš, Serbia, Parlic was a four-year letterwinner, two-year captain, and four-time SEC Academic Honor Roll honoree as a Razorback student-athlete.
Parlic helped guide the Razorbacks to the NCAA Tournament in 2021, a season that featured signature wins against No. 3 Tennessee, No. 5 Baylor, and No. 12 Texas A&M. The victory over the third-ranked Volunteers is the highest-ranked win in Arkansas program history.
The Razorbacks were ranked as high as No. 26 during Parlic’s tenure and he helped to eight players earn ITA individual rankings, including 2022 All-SEC First Team honoree Alex Reco. Reco advanced to the round of 32 at the 2022 NCAA Individual Championship.
In the classroom, the men’s tennis team at Arkansas boasted the department’s highest team grade-point average in 2021 and 2022.
Prior to returning to his alma mater, Parlic served as an assistant coach for the women’s tennis program at Colorado for two seasons from 2018-2020. In his first season at CU, he helped the Buffs set a program record for Pac-12 wins, including an upset over a top-30 opponent, Washington State.
Parlic spent the 2017-18 season at Arkansas as an assistant coach for the women’s team. He was instrumental in helping the Razorbacks reach the semifinals of the SEC Tournament, becoming the first team in conference history to make it that far as the 11th seed. That team also knocked off three top-20 squads during the campaign, including No. 7 South Carolina.
Before coaching at the IMG Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Florida in 2016-17, Parlic began his coaching career as a graduate assistant coach with the Arkansas men’s team for the 2015-16 campaign. He helped coach the No. 1 and No. 2 singles positions, and the No. 1 doubles pairing, leading all three to top-20 national rankings. As a team, the Razorbacks began that season unranked before finishing with 20 wins and ranked 12th in the country.

CAMP REVIEWS
“My wife and I sent our son to this camp with hopes he would learn the basic fundamentals of tennis. Not only did he learn the fundamentals but he now has such a strong love for the game and is consistently asking me to take him down to our local courts. The experience my son Jovan had at camp is one that we will never forget. We already can’t wait for camp next year!” –Tom B.
“I went to camp last summer with a few of my friends and it was the best week of my summer. I learned so many new skills and tactics all while having fun with my friends. I can’t wait for more kids from my club to come to camp this summer!” -Michael C.
“My daughter has always been a talented player but lacked confidence in her matches. After her week at this camp, she looked like a whole new player; playing aggressive and confident while truly enjoying her time on the court. I credit this to the instruction she received from adidas Tennis camps; I look forward to seeing what next level of her game she reaches after her experience next year.” -Kyle D.
