Camp Director

Dan Tenney
Dan TenneyHead Boys Tennis Coach at University High School

Coach Dan Tenney is the Head Boys Tennis Coach at University High School in Spokane, Washington. A dedicated leader within the University High athletic department, Coach Tenney brings over 22 years of experience to the courts. His leadership of the program is characterized by a deep commitment to the Spokane tennis community and a focus on helping young athletes develop the skills and confidence they need to compete at their highest level.

Throughout his two decades at University High, Tenney has built a program known for its consistency and postseason success. Under his guidance as the boys’ varsity coach, his teams recently secured 1st place finishes in both Sub-Districts and 3A Districts. His ability to help players reach their full potential is clear, as five of his student-athletes competed in the State Finals last year. These achievements, combined with his 17 years as an assistant for the girls’ program, earned him the honor of GSL Coach of the Year.

Tenney’s coaching style is backed by a lifelong passion for the game, having played and enjoyed tennis for nearly 45 years. This extensive time on the court has given him a deep understanding of everything from basic strokes to advanced match play. Because he has stayed active in the sport for over four decades, he is able to show campers that tennis is a fun, rewarding sport they can play and enjoy for the rest of their lives.

Coach Tenney is excited to bring his expertise in fundamental technical strategy and his commitment to elite footwork and hitting mechanics to adidas Tennis Camps this summer.
